Position: DIRECTOR- SCHOOL OF ACCOUNTANCY

FACULTY OF MANAGEMENT AND LAW

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

Requirements:
  1. A doctoral degree at National Qualifications Framework Level 10 in one of the disciplines in the School of Accountancy; or Master’s degree at National
    Qualifications Framework Level 9 in one of the disciplines in the School of
    Accountancy with registration as a Chartered Accountant (CA). Other
    management qualifications, diploma and certificates will be a strong
    recommendation.
  2. Be a fellow member of a professional accounting body such as the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA), Chartered Institute of Management
    Accountants (CIMA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
  3. Knowledge, understanding and experience of Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA), Council on Higher education (CHE) and their related statutory regulatory environments.
  4. Good understanding of the SAICA regulatory environment, and of its networks and activities.
Key Responsibilities:

 Develop and implement teaching and learning programmes within the
academic disciplines presented by the School and promote inter-disciplinary
co-operation and innovation.
 Set research priorities, develop research partnership and build research
capacity within the relevant fields.
 Establish, maintain and extend the School’s contact with other academic and
research institution and related professional bodies
 Mentor and promote post-graduate students.

Position: LECTURER: DEVELOPMENT PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT (3 Posts)

SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS AND MANAGEMENT

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

Requirements:

 A full dissertation research Master of Development Studies, Development
Planning and Management or any related field.
 An Honours of Development Studies, Development Planning and Management
or any relevant honours qualification.
 The candidate should have an aspiration to register for a Doctor of
Development Studies or related fields.
 At least 2 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution and with the
expertise of the combination of the following courses: Research Methodology,
Strategic Management and Planning, Development Planning and Policy, Rural
Development Planning, Development Planning and Management; Community
Development Planning; Geospatial Technology for Development Planning;
Poverty and Social Development, Rural and Urban Planning.

Duties:

 Teach modules in the Department of Development (Planning and
Management) at both undergraduate.
 Supervise Honours and Masters’ research studies.
 Conduct research, represent papers at conferences and continuously
publish in subsidy-earning Conference Proceedings, Journals and Books.
 Initiate or participate in community engagement activities with the
Department.

Position: PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

SCHOOL OF MOLECULAR AND LIFE SCIENCES

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

requirements:

 A Bachelor’s degree or a three-year Diploma preferable in Administration or related field.
 At least three (3) year’s working experience in position of Administrative Officer at a tertiary Institution.
 A thorough understanding of University General rules and regulations regarding admissions, registration, exemptions and exclusions.
 A good understanding of capturing of assessment marks and graduation
processes.
 Highly skilled in administration duties, including administering school /
departmental committees.

Duties and responsibilities:

 Manage academic administration of the school, including student recruitment,
admissions, exclusions, exemptions and graduations.
 Capture all the assessment marks.
 Handle student’s enquiries and regularly provide reports to the Director of School,
 Coordinate and manage all administrative staff in the school.
 Maintain an efficient filing system of student’s and all other School records.
 Ensure compliance to students’ registration processes management of General
Rules (G- Rules

Position: DEPUTY VICE-CHANCELLOR- RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND
PARTNERSHIPS

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

Requirements:

 A sound track record as an academic leader and scholar.
 A minimum of 10 years’ experience as senior academic leader, at least five (5)
which must have been in an academic leadership position.
 Appropriate post-graduate qualification at a Doctoral level.
 Sound knowledge of the national Research and Innovation agenda.
 A proven track record of scholarly productivity.
 Proven ability to provide strong leadership and vision, to enthuse and inspire,
promoting excellence in research, innovation and partnerships, and creating
and environment in which these can flourish.

Duties and responsibilities:

 Lead and co-ordinate the University’s preparations for, and submissions to
external evaluations of research quality, in order to maintain and enhance the
University’s current national and international standing for research quality.
 Provide strategic academic leadership for the development of a culture, policies
and processes that support the increase of research grant income, and
diversification of the sources of research income.
 Ensure that the infrastructure and resources provided to support research are
fit for purpose and support the maintenance and enhancement of research
quality, and increases in research productivity

Position: CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE

INTERNAL AUDIT

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

Requirements:

 B. Degree/B Tech in Accounting / Finance/ Auditing. Postgraduate degree
and professional certification eg CPA, CMA, CIA etc. are preferred.
 Ten years’ experience in auditing, eight of which must have been in middle
and higher management levels.
 Excellent knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws rules and
regulations.
 Strong knowledge of auditing procedures, including planning, techniques and
tests as well as sampling methods involved in conducting audits.

Responsibilities:

 Direct and manage internal audit operations, ensuring compliance with the
university policies, regulations and procedures.
 Develop and execute the annual audit plan.
 Oversee the development and implementation of the audit strategy, policies
and procedures.
 Leading the planning, execution and reporting on internal audit engagements.
