Position: JUDGE’S SECRETARIES (X26 POSTS)

CENTRE: Gauteng Division of the High Court- Pretoria (X11 Posts); Gauteng Division of the High Court-Johannesburg (X15 Posts)

CLOSING DATE: 30 AUGUST 2024

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric Certificate. One (1) to three (3) years’ secretarial experience or as an office assistant in a legal environment.

A valid driver’s license.

An LLB degree or a minimum of 20 modules completed towards an
LLB, BA/BCOM Law degree will serve as an added advantage and results must accompany the application.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a typing test.

DUTIES:

To ensure attendance and screening of all incoming and outgoing calls.

To ensure that appointments and meetings of the Judge are diarized.

To ensure that the judgments are typed and correspondences are filed
accordingly in the right sections.

To ensure that signed Judgments and orders handed down in court or
virtually are sent to the typist and the library (Judgement only).

To ensure that all visitors are received, screened and their queries are attended to.

Position: ADMINISTRATION CLERK

CENTRE NATIONAL OFFICE- MIDRAND

Closing date: 30 August 2024

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12, no experience required, National Diploma in Management Services/Work Study or equivalent relevant qualification at NQF level 6 with 360 credits as recognised by SAQA will be an added advantage.

DUTIES:

Provide support in the implementation and maintenance of the approved organisational structure, provide efficient and effective administrative related activities to the unit.

Review Departmental job description.
Provide support to the Job Evaluation process.

Position: TYPIST

CENTRE: NORTHERN CAPE DIVISION OF THE HIGH COURT

Closing date: 30 August 2024

REQUIREMENTS:

Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.

A minimum typing speed of 35 wpm.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a typing test.

A valid Driver’s license will serve as an advantage

DUTIES:

Typing of appeals, reviews, reports, minutes, circulars, notice of set downs, witness statements, taxing master reports, affidavits, memorandums and court orders.

Relief administrative personnel where necessary.

Filling, opening files and making appointments.

Dealing with public queries and other administrative duties

Position: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER- SOUTH AFRICAN JUDICIAL EDUCATION INSTITUTE (SAJEI)

CLOSING DATE: 30 August 2024

REQUIREMENTS:

A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) and a Post Graduate Degree in Management or an LLB Degree (NQF Level 8) as recognised by SAQA.
A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience at Senior Management Level or similar recognised experience.

A valid driver’s license.

Knowledge of the functioning of the integrated justice system.

Knowledge of and experience in the development of education and training programmes.

Extensive knowledge and demonstratable application of King IV Code on Corporate Governance.

Organisational ability and analytical acumen.

Broad understanding of the South African Judiciary and its Constitutional and legislative mandate.

Advanced knowledge and experience in stakeholder management practices.

DUTIES:

Provide administrative leadership. Inter alia fulfil duties in accordance with Section 5 (a)-(f) of the SAJEI Act.

Develop, implement and monitor the corporate governance calendar of the Institute.

Provide technical and research support to the Council and its governance structures.

Prepare and submit performance information to SAJEI governance structures, the Secretary General and all the relevant stakeholders.

Facilitate material development and review, identify research priorities, develop, and implement the Annual Research Agenda.
