Position: Programme Officer MSMEs

Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Project Management, Procurement, Computer Science or related fields with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience in project management at a national or international level, international finance, and/or international development within the public sector, multilateral institutions, and international non-governmental or similar organisations regionally and/or internationally.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent working knowledge of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.)
- Technically competent, and knowledgeable, with experience in development issues and administrative management.
- Experience in proposal development and resource mobilisation is an advantage.
- Ability to identify and contribute to the solution of problems/issues.
- Ability to listen and co-develop solutions to resourcing needs of African MSMEs.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and thoroughness.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision, be proactive, initiative, and with sound judgment.
- High level of integrity and accountability, flexible approaches to work coupled with enthusiasm, commitment, and energy.
- Ability to leverage limited resources and staff for maximum impact.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under pressure with a wide range of individuals and institutions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and multi-national environment
- Experience working with AU or other international development organizations would be an advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to Africa’s development priorities and goals.
- Knowledge of various research methodologies and sources, including electronic sources on the internet, intranet, and other databases.
