Position: General Assistant-Blockages & Clean-up Teams

Department of Water and Sanitation

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 10

· Physical ability to perform all work required

· 1 year experience in similar environment

Core Responsibilities:

· Assist with maintenance, repair work and new work on water and sewer networks

· Excavate using pick and shovel or any other appropriate designed tool as instructed

· Prepare bed for laying of reticulation pipes

· Backfill and compaction with shovel and compactor

· Enter sewer pumps for the purpose of removing rags, foreign objects and cleaning

· Ensure that all safety standards are always adhered to as per regulatory requirements

Position: Manager- Internal Control Revenue

Department of Finance

Closing date: 26 September 2025

Minimum Requirements:

• BCom Degree or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
• 5 years’ experience in a similar environment
• A valid driver’s license

Core Responsibilities:

• Implement and contribute to strategic capability and leadership ensuring that Council complies and meets all statutory obligations in respect of internal controls and GRAP standards
• Manage the internal control process within section to address weakness in the system of internal control
• Manage and motivate the staff within the section to contribute to excellent service delivery
• Conduct internal control reviews to ensure that a sound system of internal control is maintained
• Responsible for operational process to ensure that system of internal control is working as desired

Position: Water Quality Officer

Department of Water and Sanitation

Closing date: 24 September 2025

Minimum Requirements:
  • National Diploma in Natural Science (Analytical Chemistry/Microbiology/Biochemistry/Water Care/ Water Quality) or NQF7 water related qualification
  • Computer literacy
  • Applicable valid driver’s license
  • 1 year experience in a similar environment
Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and take samples at industries, business, environmental points and potable water sample points.
  • Evaluate analysis results, identify possible deviation and apply problem solving skills and advise on corrective actions.
  • Escalate any abnormalities and hazardous situations noted.
  • Evaluate storm water pollution and advise/assist with resolving such matters.
  • Perform laboratory duties, prepare and standardise solutions and calibrate instruments.
  • Capture, evaluate and process all data, inspections and complaints on the water quality information system.
