Requirements:
- Candidates must be in possession of a valid South African Civil Aviation Authority Aviation (SACAA) Fixed Wing Commercial License Aeroplane (CPL (A))
- Minimum total fixed wing flight hours 600 hours,
- Minimum “Pilot In Command (PIC)” fixed wing flight hours 500 hours on similar aircraft such as Cessna 182 or Cessna 206
- Minimum of 100 hours on type C182 and C206
- Minimum of 100 hours flying from rural bush (gravel/grass) strips that require STOL operations and considerations
- Valid Dangerous Goods course certificate
- Valid Crew Resource Management course certificate
- Valid SACAA Class 1 Pilot Medical Certificate
- Valid Night Rating
- Valid and current Instrument Rating
Responsibilities:
- To manage and coordinate all fixed wing aircraft and fixed wing pilots for all SANParks
- To perform fixed wing pilot duties for SANParks
- Operational pre-planning and implementation to ensure availability of SANParks fixed wing aircraft with minimal downtime and effect to flight operations
- Manage and oversight of fixed wing aircraft maintenance
- Management of fixed wing aircraft after their return from a flight to ensure correct turnaround and operational standby
- Management of fixed wing / ultralight pilots within SANParks Airwing flight operations
Position: Park Manager
Location: Garden Route National Park

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Conservation, Tourism Management, or any other related qualification.
- A Postgraduate Degree in related discipline or MBA will be an added advantage.
- Six years related middle management experience.
- Working knowledge of relevant conservation legislation
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft packages
- Sound knowledge of statutory governing National Parks incl. NEMA: PAA, MPA, PFMA, etc.
- Good written and verbal communication, negotiation, project management, conflict resolution and community liaison skills
- Willingness to work long and irregular hours as well as extensive travelling
- Sound organisational, administrative and negotiation skills
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring long-term ecological and economic sustainability of the Section
- Managing implementation and administration of policies and budget according to operational plans and relevant legislation
- Ensuring that the necessary conservation planning, and development takes place to enhance the parks natural, cultural and scenic resources.
- Ensuring that management of the Section is guided by relevant research and monitoring
- Ensuring compliance with legal and policy provisions pertaining to the Section
- Ensuring that operational impacts on the environment are avoided or minimised
- Implementing effective Human Resources Management
Position: Interpretive Officer
Location: West Coast National Park.

Requirements:
- Diploma in Nature Conservation, Social Science, Education or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in environmental interpretation and education
- Knowledge of Cultural Heritage Resource Management and interpretation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Afrikaans is essential for effective communication in this role.
- Computer literacy with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Good written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
- Valid code 10 driver’s licence is essential and PDP will be an added advantage
- Experience in community development will serve as an added advantage
Responsibilities:
- Planning, developing and presentation of environmental education programs
- Promotions of the park’s image to the full range of parks users
- Establish and maintain sound relations with surrounding communities
- Compile stats and reports
- Conduct exhibitions and outreach programs
- Information dissemination to visitors and local communities
- Assisting with general administration of programmes within the SET Department

Position: Financial Budget Analyst
Location: Groenkloof National Park, Pretoria

Requirements:
- Be in possession of a National Diploma in Accounting or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree will be an advantage.
- Have 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Have a hands-on experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Have exposure to financial systems (e.g., Great Plains) and ERP software.
- Having experience working within a public sector environment is a plus, especially handling compliance with public financial regulations like PFMA.
- Computer literacy.
- Analyse information and provide advice to management.
- Management and planning skills to coordinate the budgetary exercises.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the development, consolidation, and coordination of annual budgets for the head office and all national parks.
- Monitor and track budget allocations per division, ensuring adherence to the approved budget.
- Provide financial guidance to divisional/departmental managers on budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Conduct financial analysis to assess budget performance, identify trends, and highlight potential risks.
- Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management and stakeholders.
- Generate financial insights to support decision-making and cost efficiency.
- Oversee and track expenditure across all divisions, ensuring it aligns with the approved budget.

Requirements:
- Grade 12
- THETA Nature Site Guide (Dangerous Game Area) TGD/NSGDGM/4/0037 NGF level 2 certificate (must include View Potentially Dangerous Game Unit Standards)
- Valid First Aid Certificate, preferably Level 1 or Level 2
- Valid DEAT Registration card (Site Guide: KNP & surrounding areas)
- Valid C1 Driver License (Code 10)
- Valid Professional Driving Permit
- SASSETA Unit Standards: 123519, 119651 & 117705 certification.
- SAPS (South African Police Service) Firearm Competency certificate or proof of application as issued by the SAPS.
- 1 year of conservation/guided activities-related experience.
Responsibilities:
- To conduct basic and intermediate guided activities in the gate/camp
- In the absence of the Snr. Field Guide will plan and organise camp/gate based guided activities for the smooth operations.
- Conduct administration of the guiding activities at the camp.
- Market guided activities with the intention to improve revenue at the camp/gate.
- Present environmental interpretation to create awareness and a sustainable environmental culture.
