Position: Market Research Analyst

Minimum requirements:

• A tertiary qualification (NQF 7 / University degree) in Business, Economics, B.Com

Marketing, Mathematical or Statistical Sciences, Computational and Applied Mathematics,

Information Engineering, or a related field;

• At least 2 years of relevant working experience.

Desirable experience and qualifications: 

• A tertiary qualification (NQF 8 / University Honours degree or higher) in the abovementioned

or related fields.

• At least 2 years of market research experience;

• Proficiency in data visualisation and analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Activities and Responsibilities:

• Analyse both quantitative and qualitative data from industry trends, competitor activities,

and market conditions to inform business development and marketing strategies using

data-driven research.

• Utilise data visualisation and analysis tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to generate

actionable insights.

• Maintain and update databases of potential clients and partners, as well as Wits

expertise and resources;

• Prepare detailed reports, summaries, and presentations that convey research findings

and market insights.

• Support the business development team with data-driven insights for client pitches and

proposals;

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute solutions for potential

clients, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.

• Participate in team meetings to present and discuss research findings and contribute to

the development of business development and marketing strategies.

Position: Multimedia Campaigns and Communications Officer

Location: Johannesburg

Requirements:
  • A relevant post-matric qualification in multimedia and video production
  • At least four years relevant work experience
  • Experience and ability to work as part of a team
  • You will be required to submit a portfolio of multimedia work you have produced
responsibilities:
  • Bringing together text, photographs, graphics, illustrations, infographics, layouts, digital animation, video, photography, and audio to create a range of impactful multimedia products that can be viewed on a range of devices and platforms to diverse audiences using multiple channels.
  • Using video editing software and AI tools, together with creative and technical skills, design and develop multimedia products that entertain, educate, persuade, or inform target audiences.
  • Taking photographs and videos of alumni and alumni activities, selected University, staff and student events, and conduct on camera interviews with selected subjects.
  • Cultivating global regular giving, developing giving appeals and acknowledging giving (stewardship) through multimedia communication.
  • Improving the quality, currency and comprehensiveness of the alumni database through multimedia campaigns.
  • Developing and executing multimedia communication that builds, enhances and maintains lifelong relationships and keeps alumni informed about fellow Witsies and the University.

Position: ACADEMIC LITERACY COORDINATOR

Location: Braamfontein

Closing date: 20 January 2025

Minimum Requirements:

•                     A Master’s qualification in science education or education (where a focus on academic literacy at tertiary level would be preferable).

•                     Four years’ language, teaching and guidance experience.

•                     A teaching qualification or education diploma would be an advantage.

•                     Prior experience in teaching, editing, academic writing or drafting is preferred.

Duties:

•                     Surveying and establishing academic support structures and providing academic literacy interventions, as required for supporting students in each discipline in the Faculty of Science.

•                     Development and delivery of relevant academic literacy development workshops and programmes

•                     Development of excellent critical literacy science students (undergraduate in particular) through workshops and discipline-embedded support.

•                     Provide support for postgraduate students’ writing development, through one-on-one consultations and facilitation of writing retreats

•                     Conduct research into academic literacy to inform academic literacy support practice and initiatives.

Position: Development Professional – International Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser

Location: Johannesburg

Closing date: 24 January 2025

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent relevant qualifications 

• 5 years fundraising or related work experience (preferably in the university/donor environment)

• 3-5 Years work experience with national and international Trusts and Philanthropies

• Proven success in securing significant levels of revenue for projects such as university infrastructure, research programmes and bursaries 

• Have experience in development, fundraising, public relations, and/ or marketing work

• Have experience and proven competencies in strategic insight and participation in large projects

• Understanding of investor and donor markets, both nationally and internationally

Work experience in a Higher Education Environment.

• Identifying national and international Trusts and Foundations sector trends and innovations that yield secure investments/donations to the University 

• Identifying and securing new sector investment for the University’s priority projects

• Coordinating institutional strategies that will be appealing to current and new investors in the sector

• Ensure high-level stewardship of existing investors and actively re-engaging past investors in the sector

• High-level attention to the process of formulating, writing and submitting business propositions as required

• Contribute to the continued expansion of the prospect database, its accuracy and the quality and application of its data

Position: Database and Research Officer

Location: Johannesburg

Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent relevant qualifications, in Information Systems / Information Technology / Computer Science 

• 2 Years of work related experience

• Business and/or systems management

• CRM knowledge including report design (Salesforce or DevMan experience advantageous)

• Accurate data capturing including bulk uploads

• System testing and bug management

• Interrogating and analysing information in a CRM database

• Basic prospect research

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Correctly capture data on the Customer Relationship Management System

• Update data to improve data quality

• Clean data by following pattern of wrong data structure

• User training

• System testing

• Bug recording

• Bug reporting

• Design and run customized reports from the Customer Relationship Management System

• Publish customized reports for internal use by Development and Fundraising Managers and Team Members

• Maintain published reports

• Clean Prospect and Donor profiles on the Customer Relationship Management System

• Verify Prospect and Donor information on the Customer Relationship Management System

• Assign Prospects to relevant flags on the Customer Relationship Management System

• Ensure that all Prospect and Donor data is up-to-date and correct
