Position: Audio Visual Imaging Producer

Location: Auckland Park

CLOSING DATE: 15 JANUARY 2025

REQUIREMENTS:
  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Sound engineering or related discipline.
  • 4 years’ experience in Broadcasting environment of which 2 years should be in Radio production.
  • Proficiency in recording and editing software (i.e. pro tools, audacity, adobe etc).
  • Above average experience and knowledge of broadcasting production technology and digital media application.
  • Above average proficiency of the Afrikaans language (spoken and written) is essential.
  • Ability and willingness to work under pressure and on short notice
  • Good research skills and ability to apply research information
  • Knowledge of popular music, and current affairs will be an advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Conceptualize, script, and produce cutting edge, high quality, generic, seasonal and thematic Station Imaging (jingles, promos, and one-liners).
  • Prepare/compile briefs for station’s brand and imaging campaigns.
  • Identify relevant voices in order to produce unique and up-to-date station imaging.
  • Receive bookings and prepare for recordings, ensuring all equipment, facilities and resources are available for production, according to production specifications.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, logistical arrangements and production of station promos.
  • Effective recording of productions, ensuring the optimal mix of all the sound for broadcast, recording and sound reinforcement, in order to optimally deliver on the production needs and requirements.

Position: Specialist-Systems Administrator

Location: Auckland Park

CLOSING DATE: 16 JANUARY 2025

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 3 Year National Diploma (S4) or National Diploma Computer Studies with Information Systems (NQF6) or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Light Current).
  • Minimum 7 years technical experience within the IT broadcast environment or Commercial of The Shelf Systems with at least 5 years’ experience at a system administrator level.
  • Driver’s license- Advantageous.
  • IT Knowledge (including Database Administration and IT security) is essential. Must also display proficiency in MS Office, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point & Visio.
duties:
  • Contribute and provide (technical) submissions to Divisional Strategy in alignment with the Corporate   Plan and Target Operating Model.
  • Provide technical research and solutions for incorporation into OPEX and CAPEX business plans which is supported by research and\ or statistical data.
  • Apply sound design principles in order to optimize playout systems availability and integration into scheduling systems and studio broadcast equipment, which is in line with customer requirements across all SABC regions.
  • Interpret business requirements in order to design and implement functional systems & processes contributing towards effective and efficient workflows for the delivery of radio and\ or television content.
  • Prepare specifications for minor CAPEX and OPEX business cases according to technical guidelines and user requirements for approval by next level of Management.
  • Assist OEM with project designs for integration into the SABC infrastructure.

Position: PRINCIPAL TECHNICAL OPERATOR

Location: EASTERN CAPE

CLOSING DATE:15 JANUARY 2025

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Sound Engineering Certificate (1 year & above) or Film/Video Technology or Relevant Qualification
  • Sound Engineering Diploma (will add advantage)
  • Driver’s License: C1 (Code 10) with PDP
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in broadcast environment, minimum of 3 years as Senior Operator level with relevant experience in Digital Sound & Video within live, production and post production environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Participate in Capex project and system execution, commissioning and operational workflows to deliver on functional requirements and avoid on-air disruptions
  • Finance Motivations
  • Proper investigation & acceptable explanation of budget for motivations
  • Accurate submission of Capex & Opex inputs into departmental budget
  • Opex contribution to ensure broadcast systems sustainability
  • Specialised Sound/Video skills ensuring alternative Revenue Streams, eg CD Artists Recording, Font of House, Webinars, External Live Broadcasts, etc as per external tariff list
  • Designing fit-for-purpose innovative operational solutions in consultation with digital partners to create resolutions
  • Agreed % of targets met; Agreed % of resources, equipment and facility availability

Position: Sectional Lead- OB Technical

Location: Auckland Park

INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3 Year Technical National Diploma (Electronics –Light Current) (NQF6).
  • Valid Code EB Driver’s License.

4 years broadcast experience at supervisory or supervisory/specialist level

duties:
  • To ensure facility /resource availability target are met
  • Achievement of agreed targets on 20/80 principle (key deliverables)
  • Production in accordance with customer requirements and broadcast standards
  • Monthly report to bean accurate reflection of status on deliverables
  • Project completion in time and within approved budget
  • Accurate reporting on project status
  • Set service delivery standards and lead team to achieve them
  • Facilitate updated SOP’s to promote best practice

Position: SENIOR SCHEDULING ANALYST

Location: Auckland Park

CLOSING DATE: 12 JANUARY 2025

 INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

National Diploma / Degree in Human Sciences majoring in   Statistics or equivalent qualifications. (NQF6/7)

5 years’ experience in data analysis and policy regulatory environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyse preliminary schedules and alert scheduling managers if quotas are not met to ensure a high level of awareness on regulatory responsibilities.
  • Analyse reconciled broadcast schedules and provide feedback to channels on performance against licence conditions and regulations for inclusion in monthly reports.
  • Conduct data analysis and relevant scenario planning to ensure compliance by TV and Radio.
  • Calculate impact of proposed schedule changes on mandate compliance; sift data, notice trends and variances.
  • Extract and validate data from Integrated Broadcast Management System (IBMS) or Television Broadcast Management system (TVBMS) for analysis of Television schedules.
  • Plan for the implementation when new licence conditions and regulations prevail.
  • Ensure that data capturing is correct and identify data conflicts.
  • Promote the ethos of the Public Broadcaster in respect of its mandate.
  • Monitor and Evaluate TV and Radio services to ensure compliance.
  • Provide monthly reports and give regular feedback.
