Key Competency Requirements:

• Nursing diploma qualification and registered with SANC
• Intermediate computer literacy with Skylims knowledge is advantageous.
• 2 years post qualification phlebotomy experience is advantageous.
• Must have a valid unrestricted Code B driver’s license
• Pathology experience is highly advantageous which includes order of draw and running of Point of Care instruments i.e.  Hemocue, Stratus & running of arterial blood gas on the machine.

Position: Phlebotomy Technician

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Registered with the HPCSA as a qualified Laboratory Assistant
• Computer literate
• Relevant experience in a busy specimen reception department
• Experience with handling challenging queries is advantageous
• Experience with sending and receiving samples using Meditech shipping batches is advantageous
• Experience with managing on hold list and incomplete reports is advantageous
• Experience with providing telephonic results is advantageous
• Client-focused with excellent attention to detail

Key Responsibilities:

• Receipt and processing of specimens
• Distribution of specimens
• Specimen preparation
• Handling of queries
• Shipping specimens to reference laboratories
• Assisting with providing telephonic results
• Report filing in the wards
• Collecting of specimens in the wards and theatre

Position: Messenger 

Location: Heart Depot, Pretoria

Key Competency Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Basic computer literacy is advantageous
• A valid unrestricted Code B driver’s license is advantageous
• Previous exposure in a pathology environment will be advantageous.
