Position: Student Counsellor

Faculty :Support / Admin Department

Closing date: 8 December 2024

Minimum Requirements:
  • Masters’ Degree in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as psychologist.
  • Minimum of one-year work experience as a registered psychologist.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Training and development: A variety of academic and non-academic skills development programmes, psychoeducational workshops, career preparedness development. Facilitation to different student groups.
  • Internal / External liaison and consulting, advocates on students’ behalf with regards to psychosocial issues negatively impacting on their academic performance and retention; and providing learner support. This may include differently abled students.
  • Participate in- and initiate research
  • Organizes and present/co-present outreach educational programs to CPUT students on campus and in student residences
  • Record keeping and administration
  • Project management: develop, implement and oversee projects related to different programmes within the Department. Collaborate and participate in different Divisional project aimed at promoting and advocating for student health and wellbeing.

Position: eResearch Systems and Web Developer

Minimum Requirements:
  • A 4 year qualification in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology or related fields.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Software Design and Development (Programming)
  • Able to work flexibly as and when required across campuses

Position: Clinical Instructor- Nuclear Medicine Technology

Closing date: 19 January 2025

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

BTech in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent qualification.

At least three (3) years’ clinical experience in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Registration with the HPCSA as a Nuclear medicine Radiographer.

Compliant with HPCSA Continuous Professional Development.

A valid driver’s license.

Key Performance Areas :
  • Clinical education and mentoring of nuclear medicine technology students in CPUT clinical skills laboratories and HPCSA accredited and other workplace learning (WPL) sites.
  • Supervision and management of clinical skills laboratories.
  • Conduct or assist with clinical demonstrations and tutorials individually or utilizing small group teaching.
  • Regular monitoring of logbooks and progress reports, inclusive of student interviews to monitor progress.
  • Assist with clinical rosters, year plans and assure compliance with these.
  • Develop strategies and conduct clinical assessment to determine learner’s competencies in liaison with associated professionals.

Position: Coordinator- Special Projects and Short Courses

Faculty :Business and Management Sciences

Closing date: 8 December 2024

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

1) A relevant postgraduate diploma (or equivalent NQF Level 8) in a business and/or management discipline

2) At least 5 years’ experience coordinating and leading multiracial teams.

3) At least 3 years’ experience overseeing the delivery of specialised and customised skills development and training programmes using a multi modal approach.

4) Evidence of experience in handling skills development and training tenders

5) Evidence of experience in project administration and management

Key Performance Areas:
  1. Strategic planning and operationalising of plans
  2. Reviewing operational plan and evaluating for efficiency and weaknesses
  3. Reporting to HOD of GCM on deliverables in the Unit
  4. Performance management of all staff in the Unit
  5. Supporting staff to ensure that all possible resources are made available to effect sustainable delivery 6} Writing proposals as and when opportunities arise

Position: Student Development Officer

Closing date: 8 December 2024

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • A relevant three-year qualification, preferably in Social Science or Leadership development or a related field.
  • At least three years of relevant experience in Student Governance, with a proven track record in developing programs for the SRC at universities. Candidates are encouraged to elaborate on specific initiatives or projects in their application that demonstrate their expertise and impact.
  • Strong understanding of student needs and issues within the university context.
  • Valid driver’s license.
Key Performance Areas:
  • Provide ad hoc counseling to students, supporting them in managing their multiple roles and responsibilities effectively.
  • Involvement in finance and procurement matters related to student projects, ensuring budget integrity and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Foster internal and external liaison with clients and community partners, enhancing interdepartmental relations, and effectively communicating marketing efforts related to student governance initiatives.
  • Manage and oversee the local campus based SRC, focusing on their training and development to empower them as leaders within the campus community.
  • Promote and support affiliated student structures, including political organizations, while managing the complexities of student governance effectively.
  • Stay informed about national and institutional policies affecting student governance and advocate for student concerns within those frameworks.
