Position: Talent Acquisition Specialist

requirements:

NQF level 6 in HR or related field. NQF level 7 in HR or related will be an added advantage.

4 – 5 years’ recruitment experience at various job levels / Proven work experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist or similar role. Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting using various interview techniques and evaluation methods. A keen understanding of the differences between various roles within organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for various positions.

Coordinate with Line Managers to identify staffing needs.

Forecast quarterly and annual hiring needs by department.

Determine selection criteria.

Source potential candidates through online channels (e.g. social platforms and professional networks).

Plan interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments, and in-person interviews.

Position: Travel Coordinator SKAO

Location: Cape Town

requirements:

National Diploma hospitality, travel or a related field.

Driver’s license

3 years’ work related experience in travel industry or administration

Key Responsibilities:

Planning site travel, accommodation and associated arrangements for staff and make booking.

Preparing itineraries for staff travelling to site on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays and other days as needed

Liaising with Charter service provider about flights and availability

Obtaining information about the availability, cost and convenience of different types of transport and accommodation

requirements:

PHD in Astronomy, astrophysics or related field

Track record of developing new data analysis methods and observational techniques

Experience in radio interferometric data analysis with at least one South African radio observatory

Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals in physics or astronomy, particularly technical publications, and/or track record of technical reports

requirements:

University degree in natural science or engineering Project Management qualification

5 years’ experience in academia or industry after graduation 3

years’ experience in overseeing international projects in science, engineering and/or technology and disseminating grants across borders

3 years’ experience in overseeing organisational communication

Experience in working with international teams

Experience in managing volunteers

Experience within a research environment

Key Responsibilities:

Administer OAD annual call for proposals

Management, coordination, and support of projects funded by OAD

Measure the impact of projects

Oversee OAD Communications Support Special projects and Flagship projects

Position: Electronics Technologist

Location: Cape Town

requirements:

BTech/Mtech Electronics with 7 years’ relevant electronics experience

Practical experience electronic hardware assembly, integration, and testing Practical experience in the design, construction, and installation of electrical control cabinets

Electronic fault finding, diagnosis and analysis

Electronic circuit and PCB CAD design and construction

Key Responsibilities:

Developing solutions and producing documented designs, manufacturing datapacks, assembly procedures, maintenance procedures, procurement lists and bills of material.

Facilitating and participating in design reviews.

Producing assembled, integrated, tested, and deployed instrumentation products for telescopes and enabling systems.
