Position: Dean of Faculty of Education

Minimum Requirements:
• A Doctoral qualification in Education
• At least 15 years’ experience as an Academic and Researcher in Higher Education with at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership position such as Head of School, Deputy Dean or equivalent.
• An extensive record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences and books and book chapters and conference proceedings.
• A substantial record of postgraduate supervision at Masters’ and Doctoral level with some of these students publishing their research.
• Active participation in and leadership of learned societies.
• Extensive application of disciplinary knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
• A record of leadership in research, teaching and learning and engagement.
• Good understanding of or experience with Department of Higher Education and Training, Council on Higher Education and South African Qualifications Authority accreditation and quality assurance processes.
Key Performance Areas:
- The provision of strategic leadership to the Faculty and the University.
- The management and optimization of all Faculty functions, processes and procedures.
- The management, coaching and mentoring of staff.
- The achievement and advancement of the Faculty strategic objectives in teaching and learning, research, and engagement.
- Personal research and the production of accredited outputs.
- Engagement.
Position: Senior Lecturer in Psychology

requirements:
Doctoral degree in Psychology
5 years at university level.
A strong record of research outputs including papers in accredited national and international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. A good record of postgraduate supervision at Masters’ level with some of these students publishing their research.
Participation in learned societies. Some application of disciplinary/professional knowledge and skills to the benefit of the external community.
Key Performance Areas:
The provision of leadership at the discipline level.
Provision of theoretically informed and pedagogically sound teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Research and the production of accredited research outputs. Postgraduate supervision and the graduation of Masters’ and Doctoral students in the minimum time.
Engagement, through which knowledge and skills are used to benefit the discipline/profession and the community.
Position: New Generation of Academic Programme (nGAP)- Economics
Closing date: 25 August 2024
requirements:
- Applicants must at least a Master’s degree in economics; with an undergraduate degree with Economics as a major subject.
- Candidate who are enrolled for a PhD in Economics will have an advantage.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above in the preceding degree, which should be a minimum of a Master’s degree.
- Be 40 years or younger.
- Be prepared and able to undertake and complete postgraduate studies at the doctoral level.

- Applicants must at least an MCom Accounting degree in Financial Accounting or related fields.
- Registration with a professional body such as SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA, or IIA is an added advantage.
- Be a South African Citizen.
- Prospective candidates should have achieved an average of 70% or above in the preceding degree, which should be a minimum of a Master’s degree.
- Be 40 years or younger.
- Be prepared and able to undertake and complete postgraduate studies at the doctoral level.
