requirements:
- A Master’s Degree in a discipline applicable and related to the Faculty of Informatics & Design (i.e Media, Information Technology, Design, Urban & Regional Planning & Architectural Technology)
- (Please note: The incumbent should complete / register for a Doctorate degree while in the position)
- At least four (4) years’ relevant experience in Higher Education
Recommendations:
- Proficiency in two or more of the regional languages in the Western Cape, one of which is English
- Successful supervision of post-graduates to completion
- A research record in the area of Linguistics (i.e publications in accredited journals, conference presentations)
- Experience in management and administration in the faculty
- Exposure in managing projects and programmes
- Exposure in proposal writing and research funding applications
- Experience in managing a budget
Key Performance Areas:
- Coordination of the Language and Transformation activities within the faculty
- Responsible for the implementation and coordination of a strategies and projects in the faculty
- Communication and coordination of policies and procedures in the faculty
- Provide leadership and mentorship to support various Language and Transformation initiatives
- Ensure compliance and enhancement in alignment with relevant institutional policies and strategies
- Monitor, review and report on all Language and Transformation activities in the faculty
- Provide administrative and development support to students and staff across the faculty
- Coordinate Lecturing in professional communication across the Faculty
- Coordinate and implement language development initiatives for staff
Position: Investigations Manager
Faculty: Support / Admin Department
Closing date: 1 September 2024
requirements:
- National Diploma in Forensics Investigation, Criminal Justice, Law, or a related field.
- Grade A PSIRA registration or registerable with PSIRA within 3 months of assumption of duty.
- 5 years in leading and managing investigations and 2 years in an investigation of crime (7 years)
- Valid driver’s License and be able to drive
- Experience in handling and managing complex investigation projects.
- No criminal record and be willing to be subjected to security screening and vetting
Recommendation:
Postgraduate Qualification in Forensic Investigation, or LLB
Key Performance Areas:

Position: Director- Strategic Initiatives and Partnerships

requirements:
- An appropriate Doctoral qualification (with preferably a Full Professor or Associate Professor credentials)
- At least 5 years management experience in the internationalization of higher education and research environment
- Evidence and a proven track record of strategic planning leadership and the management of strategic projects and partnerships at the organizational level (locally and internationally) in support of Research and Innovation development in a higher education context
- Demonstrable experience of the ability to network and interact with senior Industry, Government, non-profit, and University leaders nationally and internationally.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
- A sound understanding of strategic planning and implementation as it pertains to the Higher Education Research and Innovation environment.
- A sound understanding of the Internationalization of Higher Education locally and globally.
- An accomplished academic who has a sound understanding of both the management and practice of the research cycle, including that of research uptake
- Evidence of research outputs, including post-graduate supervision, journal articles, technical reports etc.
- Evidence of an international footprint (international partnership, networks and collaborations)
- Demonstrable experience in planning, management and execution of institutional-level programmes in a higher education environment
- An understanding of the University of Technology environment
Key Performance Areas:
- Develop, implement and monitor the institution’s internationalization (Inter- and intra-nationalization) strategies and plans and extend CPUT’s international footprint.
- Develop management and reporting process in line with the DHET Internationalization framework
- Manage and coordinate staff and student exchange programmes
- Manage and coordinate support programmes for registered international students and exchange students (inbound and outbound)

Position: Co-operative Education Manager
Faculty :Support / Admin Department

requirements:
- A relevant Master’s Degree
- 4 years of managerial or coordinator experience in working with academic qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years experience in Cooperative Education and Work-Integrated Learning
- Track record of extensive industry partnership-building
- Experience with successful WIL student placements in industry
- Knowledge of higher education legislative framework related to cooperative education and work-integrated learning.
- Experience with curriculum development in WIL
- Promotion of research in WIL-related topics and the future world of work
- Experience with staff and student development programs
- A Valid Driver’s License.
Recommendation:
A PhD will be a recommendation.
Key Performance Areas:
- Development and implementation of a marketing plan for the Graduate Recruitment Program (GRP) and the Work Integrated Learning
- Host staff and students development workshops promoting the future world of work
- Budgeting and monitoring of expenditure related to the Co-operative Education Unit
- Development of a research culture for Co-operative Education and/or Work Integrated Learning
- Generation of written reports and implementation of relevant policies on Learning, Teaching and Assessment
Position: Assistant Dean
Faculty: Applied Sciences
Closing date: 27 August 2024
requirements:
- A doctoral degree in a discipline relevant to the offerings of the Faculty of Applied Sciences
- At least ten (10) years’ Higher Education experience with at least 5 years’ relevant experience at a senior level in the Faculty
- A demonstrable track record of leadership and mentorship
- Evidence of involvement in Faculty and Institutional committees
- Thorough knowledge of the academic offerings in the Faculty
- Knowledge of institutional policies relevant to the key performance areas
- A thorough understanding of the South African Higher Education landscape
- Proven research track record as well as successful supervision of postgraduate students
Key Performance Areas:
- Share responsibility for the management of the Faculty including HR, Transformation, Budgets/ Resources and Academic Management
- Contribute to the execution of the Faculty Strategic Plan
- Manage Quality Assurance processes
- Chair and participate in relevant Faculty committees
- Faculty representation in various Institutional committees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean
