Position: Utility Vehicle Operator

Location:  Westonaria

Closing Date: 16 August 2024

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Relevant Utility Vehicle Certification and License
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a production and engineering environment
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Working to standards as assigned and actively promotes team effectiveness within the section
  • Performs any other activities necessary for the effective completion of his/her work
  • Conducts pre-use inspection on assigned equipment by means of a checklist and report deficiencies to the supervisor
  • Performs basic maintenance on equipment e.g., top up engine oil, water and hydraulic oil, check for oil leaks and clean equipment according to standards and procedures
  • Ensuring that all relevant daily targets are met continuously
  • Ensuring effective utilization of equipment

Position: Trackless Electrician

Location:  Westonaria

Closing Date: 16 August 2024

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Electrical/Auto Electrical trade certificate with medium voltage certification
  • Have 5 years’ experience as an electrician within an underground mechanized mining environment
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively
  • Timely response to breakdown management and effectively conduct appropriate root cause analysis and diagnosis
  • Investigate, diagnose and perform specialist electrical/electronic and related maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery according to set maintenance requirements, standards and specifications
  • Exercise sound expert judgment with regards to repair versus replacement versus upgrade of components
  • Identify spares requirements and order according to departmental procedure
  • Work overtime, standby and be available for callouts and reassignment within department should the need arise
  • Communicate with clients and supervisors to inform on maintenance activities performed and availability of equipment

Position: Senior Advisor Asset Protection

Location:  South Deep, South Africa

Closing Date: 19 August 2024

Minimum Requirements:
  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Diploma in Security Management or equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years’ supervisory experience on a mining operation, gold plant or precious metals environment
  • Demonstrated track record in operational perimeter and access control management, incident investigation, emergency response and public order management
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations applicable to private security operations
  • Firearm handling competency and proficiency
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the Gold Fields Occupational Health Centre and pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test, and such other tests as may be required to assess the applicant’s suitability for employment
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in operational safety, health, environmental and risk management campaigns, audits, incident management and investigations
  • Conduct security risk evaluation and compliance audits ensuring compliance to security legislation and standards
  • Participate in daily, weekly and ad hoc protection services operational incident reviews/investigations and proactive planning activities to ensure appropriate scheduling and assignment of operational teams, resources and operational readiness to manage daily protection services functions
  • Lead and participate in operational team performance oversight and assessment ensuring that appropriate interventions are implemented to enhance operational delivery
  • Supervise and oversee daily operational delivery effectiveness while assessing operational control effectiveness and conducting root cause analysis to identify potential system risks and weaknesses
