JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Must be familiar with publishing layout and design features; standard English grammar and punctuation rules. Basic familiarity with local and national culture and practices of the host country as well as with the practices of the US Government.

Duties:
  • Design and produce an informative newsletter that serves the mission community on a Twice-a-month basis. 100%
  • Solicit articles for newsletter from mission and local programs, individuals, and other sources; write articles as appropriate.
  • Edit and proofread all text submitted for publication.
  • Send electronic copies to all mission personnel and other outside mission on distribution list.

EXPERIENCE:  Two years of work experience performing administrative duties, and possessing experience with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft, Excel, Word and Outlook) is required. 

Duties:

The incumbent is the sole Administrative Assistant at the Pretoria Regional Diplomatic Courier Hub (PRDCH) and is responsible for its day-to-day operations. The incumbent manages and arranges travel for five Diplomatic Couriers and three Locally Engaged Staff (LES) drivers, to include monitoring travel documents and voucher submissions for PRDCH personnel. The incumbent also works in the logistics computer-based program to track procurements, submit time and attendance for all PRDCH personnel, and in the Integrated Logistics Management System (ILMS) to track classified pouch movements.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in providing end-user phone support for current PC desktop and application software and/or installing.
  • Upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing personal computers in a network environment, and/or experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving client issues with PC hardware, Windows 10, Microsoft office suites (to include Office 365), email and iPhone/smartphone services, and/or experience in technical call center operations

Education:

Duties:

The IT Helpdesk Technician (HDT) is responsible for first level problem determination, problem/incident recording, and problem resolution and problem escalation for the following: network connectivity, MyServices closing of requests, printer problems, and hardware and software problems and including over 10 servers and more than 240 workstations at the U.S. Consulate General Johannesburg.

Minimum of three (3) years working experience in IT fields such as Help Desk Support, Hardware or Software support or software and hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance is required.

Duties:

The Customer Support Technicians are responsible for responding to customer service requests to include technical support, configuring and optimizing OpenNet and non OpenNet hardware, software, user account management, and mobile devices. Support is provided within the Embassy compound and Embassy annexes.
